چکیده
Abstract One of the mitigations in dealing with problem waste oil is by using bioremediation techniques. Bioremediation techniques use biological agents that are safe for environment and more cost-effective. The method commonly developed immobilization bacteria plant fibers. fiber used ketapang leaf ( Terminalia catappa ) because it has physico-chemical properties can be bioremediation. This study aims to analyze ability T. as a living medium degrading effect storage live media waste. Five bacterial isolates this were Bacillus aquimaris, B. megaterium, pumilus, H. trueperi , R. bacterium . oil-degrading was made from powder. Tests carried out on days 0, 7, 28. results showed leaves could degrade (bio carrier) amount 19.9%-55.8%.

Antidiabetic activity of Terminalia catappa Linn fruits.
In view of alleged antidiabetic potential, effect of the petroleum ether, methanol, and aqueous extracts of Terminalia catappa Linn (combretaceae) fruit, on fasting blood sugar levels and serum biochemical analysis in alloxan-induced diabetic rats were investigated. All the three extracts of Terminalia catappa produced a significant antidiabetic activity at dose levels 1/5 of their lethal doses...
متن کاملStudies on Inhibition of Acid Corrosion of Mild Steel by Terminalia catappa (Tropical Almond) Leaves
Acid extract of Terminalia catappa (Tropical almond / badam) leaves is investigated as a cheap and eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1N HCl medium by weight loss, polarization, FTIR and scanning electron microscope studies. Studies carried out using various concentrations of inhibitor for different immersion times indicate Terminalia catappa to be a good mixed type corrosion in...

Mycoses caused by Candida and Cryptococcus species, associated with the advent of antifungal drug resistance have emerged as major health problems. Improved control measures and innovative therapies are needed. This paper describes results from the screening of bio-guided fractionated extracts alone and combinations of Terminalia catappa, Terminalia mantaly and Monodora tenuifolia harvested in ...
متن کاملKinetics of Autoxidation of an Oil Extract from Terminalia catappa
Soxhlet extractor was used in the extraction of oil from milled seeds of Terminalia catappa using petroleum ether (40-60 degrees ). The optimal oil yield was 56.71+/-1.66% with a viscosity of 40.79+/-1.05 centipoises. Other parameters of the oil were found as follows; specific gravity-0.9248, refractive index-1.4646, acid value-3.35, peroxide value-8.6, saponification value-166.2, and unsaponif...
متن کاملCharacterization of Aromatic Hydrocarbon Degrading Bacteria Isolated from Pine Litter
Using a novel pine needle agar, fifteen bacterial species were isolated from pine litter. These bacteria were able to degrade aromatic hydrocarbons derived from lignin and utilize the ortho-cleavage of the β-ketoadipate pathway to degrade protocatechuate or catechol. A different utilization array of aromatic hydrocarbons by these bacteria was also determined. This study provides the information...
